HIGHLIGHTS OF MONACO YACHT SHOW 2017

Last September the glamorous Principality of Monaco greeted approx. 34,000 visitors on the occasion of the 27th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show - the unmissable worldwide luxury and yachting event.
Situated in the legendary Port Hercules, the show is the world’s finest selection of superyachts which gathers together each year yachting industry leaders, yacht owners and also yacht designers and suppliers of luxury goods.

I was very pleased to visit the show this year and find out about the latest trends and products for yachts form some of the most skilled makers. Here is my curation:
Ercuis Raynaud - The French Art Of Living
Founded in 1867 in the French village of Ercuis by the priest Adrien Celeste Pillon, the prestigious silver manufacturer is today one of the leading companies specialising in luxury silverware and tableware. Characterised by elegance and distinctive designs, the Ercuis exquisite collections are used today in the finest hotels, private residences and yachts around the globe.
Raynaud Limoges is the story of a family who have refined the art of Limoges porcelain since the 19th century. Throughout the years, Raynaud have earned an international reputation thanks to their magnificent colours and iconic designs, inspired by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements, The Imperial Palace of Saint-Petersbourg or the Hungarian ‘pearls and enamels’ motifs, along with the modern patterns designed by Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau or Alberto Pinto.

Crystal Caviar - The Glass Art Connoisseur
At Crystal Caviar the skilled North-Bohemian glassblowing artists are very passionate about their craft and use long-established traditional techniques to create bespoke luxurious pieces.
Since 2010, when the company was established by Marek Landa, it has become one of the most important suppliers of crystal chandeliers and artwork to the yachting industry, luxury residences but also the public sector.
Thanks to their dedicated team of designers, craftsmen and also to collaborations with top Bohemian glass artists such as Vlastimil Beránek and Jan Frydrych, Crystal Caviar designs are a pure delight for the eye.
Their bespoke products can all be adapted to yacht interiors and include custom chandeliers, wall lights, table lamps, columns and glass artworks, or decorative glass for inlays and interior architecture.

Marmor Hotavlje - Stone-Cutting Craftsmanship
Stone-cutting experts from Hotavlje, Slovenia since 1721, Marmor Hotavlje are a prominent name in their trade, well known for their expertise and creativity. The company has extended its area of expertise and provides stone solutions for private residences and villas luxury hotels, facades, public or business buildings, restoration of architectural heritage along with bespoke stone furniture, to mention just a few.
Combining many years of tradition with cutting-edge technologies, the company has managed to penetrate the yachting market and design some of the finest mega yachts and sailboats such as Sea Cloud, MY Princess Mariana or MY Alfa Nero.
With more than 70 superyacht projects completed since year 2000, Marmor Hotavlje were present this year again at Monaco Yacht Show with unique stone-crafted pieces on display at their stand.

Preciosa - A Passion for Crystal Chandeliers
Born in the Crystal Valley region in Bohemia, Czech Republic, famous for its fine glass manufactures, Preciosa has been cultivating the art of Bohemian crystal chandeliers since 1742.
Faithful to its rich heritage and traditional techniques of crystal cutting yet keeping a keen eye on innovative design and technologies, Preciosa has established a solid reputation as masters of bespoke crystal installations for the luxury market.
This year Preciosa were again one of the official partners of the Monaco Yacht Show where they displayed their Maritime Portfolio and exquisite lighting designs from their ‘Cultivation of Chandeliers’, carefully adapted to the special requirements of the yachting market.
Moreover, they were delighted to design and produce the Monaco Yacht Show’s award trophies, an abstract interpretation of the ocean waves, translated into the surface of crystal.

Monaco Yacht Show 2017 has been again a tremendous source of inspiration and creativity for yachting and interior design and I look forward to visiting it next year.
